Baptism Is Necessary For A Good Conscience1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: A question for all those who preach against the necessity of water baptism.
If it's alright not to be baptised then is it okay for people to go through life with a bad conscience? Oh I'm being silly aren't I? How stupid of me to even suggest that it is okay to go through life with a bad conscience. Imagine the pain and the suffering people would endure with a bad conscience. Imagine the guilt they would feel from having such a bad conscience. It would almost be like being in prison wouldn't it. They would be in bondage held captive by their bad conscience. What a terrible thing for me to even suggest. Hang on a minute! If water baptism is the answer of a good conscience towards God and preachers are telling their listeners they don't have to be baptised then they are the ones who are actually encourage people to live a life of misery. Romans Chapter 8 verse 1 says,[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. But where is the freedom from condemnation if you have a bad conscience. Of course there is no freedom, there can only be condemnation with a bad conscience. This is quite the opposite to what God would have for us and people who say you don't have to get baptized a doing just that - preaching the opposite to what God would have you to do. Galations 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Make no mistake about it if you are not baptized, then you are still carrying around a bad conscience and you are still in bondage. Baptism will give you a good conscience towards God and liberty in Christ. The children of Israel were in bondage in Egypt and were delivered going through the Red Sea and their old life, the things they used to be slaves to were buried behind them when the sea closed on Pharoah's army. In like manner when we are baptized we to are burying our old lives, being set free from the former things that had us in bondage allowing us to have a good conscience. Without water baptism then there is no seperation. Those who preach against the necessity of water baptism are trying to keep you in bondage. |
