What Do You Need To Do To Get Baptized?
There is an amazing array of baptismal rituals and ceremonies that have been introduced by religion that have nothing to do with Bible Baptism.
Some Church groups make you study a whole bunch of scriptures and you have to pass a test before they will baptize you, others will make you door knock so many doors before you qualify to be baptized by them.
However these types of things have got absolutely nothing to do with it.
Read this following passage of scripture: Acts 8:35-38 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Philip preached to this guy from the Bible about Jesus Christ. It is obvious that within that preaching Philip told the eunuch about water baptism as the eunuch on seeing a certain water asked the question: What doth hinder me to be baptized? So what did Philip answer? Did he say let's do a little Bible test first and see if you pass? Or did he say let's go door knocking first to see if we can get you qualified? No he didn't did he? Here is what you must do to be baptized straight from Philip's mouth! And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. That's it! Oh the salvation of God is too easy surely we have to do more! Don't allow yourself to be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus. What do you need in order to baptized? Sufficient water because baptism is always by full immersion. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Now a decent Church will already make sure there is sufficient water so your ONLY qualification for baptism is to believe in Jesus Christ. Notice what the eunuch said... I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And notice the response of Philip... And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. That's enough. If you believe let's go. Quite frankly if you believe in Jesus Christ you are ready to be baptized. If you belong to a group that wants you to do something extra, or delays your baptism for some religious reason or other, then get out of there! If you come to one of our Church meetings then hopefully the combination of the people, the chorus session, the testimonials, the word of God, the demonstration of the power of the Spirit of God in our midst will be enough to help you believe and there should be absolutely no reason whatsoever for you not to be baptized then and there and be changed and receive the blessings of God immediately. Don't put up with those who act the opposite to how Philip did.
